QUICK REFERENCE GUIDE

This document is intended to provide a quick reference for an ARSG member to determine what should be done when participating in emergency communications drills, standby alerts, and formal activations. It is divided into three phases. Each phase lists a task, the responsible persons and a section reference to more detailed information in the ARSG Emergency Manual. Copies of this Guide and the Manual should be in each ARSG member's jump kit and at the main emergency operating locations.
Pre-Emergency Phase
Primary Responsibility: Coordinators of ARSG. Purpose: To coordinate ARSG functions during a standby alert and prior to an emergency activation. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- TASK RESPONSIBILITY SECTION NO. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1. Alert ARSG members to monitor ARSG Coordinators. 146.46 MHz. III A-C 4. Assign a temporary Net Control ARSG Coordinators. Station to activate pre-emergency net on 146.46 MHz. III C 5. Conduct Net and advise members Net Control Station. of status. V 6. Check equipment and supplies Each ARSG member. and prepare for deployment. IV B 7. Emergency Phase
Primary Responsibility: Coordinators of ARSG. Purpose: To coordinate ARSG functions during an emergency. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- TASK RESPONSIBILITY SECTION NO. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1. Activate and deploy members to ARSG Coordinators via preassigned locations. Net Control Station. IV A-B 2. New Net Control Station activated Assigned NCS operator- at Fire Department on 146.46 MHz. may not be same operator who was temporary NCS IV B1 & V 3. EOC activated on 146.46 MHz.- Assigned EOC operator. May be in Fire Truck #1 or in vehicle of EOC operator. IV B2 4. Issue assignments to all other ARSG Coordinators via members. Net Control Station. IV B3-6 5. Obtain status reports from Net Control Station. members. V 6. Register and provide All ARSG members. communications as requested by Division of Emergency Government. II A-E 7. Post-Emergency Phase
Primary Responsibility: Coordinators of ARSG. Purpose: To coordinate ARSG functions during phase-down and deactivation. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- TASK RESPONSIBILITY SECTION NO. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1. Discontinue services no longer ARSG Coordinators. required by served agency. V C9 2. Release manpower, if not needed. ARSG Coordinators via NCS. V C9 3.
